Textile Scraps Reimagined Workshop with Textile Museum of Canada

In support of the Textile Museum of Canada’s reopening, TMU instructors and fashion designers Tricia Crivellaro and Dan Dwir developed a creative textile-scrap workshop and fundraiser. Participants were introduced to Tricia’s creative practice with textile scraps, while Dan shared the story of his fashion brand and discussed the provenance of the materials. The session also showcased approaches to reusing fabric scraps. In this workshop, participants—working solo or in teams—used frames and repurposed materials to create unique artworks through open-ended experimentation.

The pieces are on display in the Learning Hub at the Textile Museum of Canada as part of the Fall 2025 reopening. These reworked textile pieces celebrate both creativity and community spirit, demonstrating how art, sustainability, and collective generosity can come together to support the Museum’s next chapter.

Exhibiting artists include: Anna Hovarth, Bianca Garcia, Cassandra Anobile Di Sopia, Daniel Tysowki, Dystropolis (Wendy Ng), Fiona Milner, Janne Boecker, Jialing Weng, Joe Lewis, Julia Petrielli, Mariana Araujo, Nazha Syriani, Samantha Lackie, and Stacey Roeterink.
Workshop: Tricia Crivellaro, Dan Dwir

Thanks to all the workshop participants!
